Mary E. McDowell CPS
Dr. Nyema Moore
I am Dr. Nyema Moore, and I bring 26 years of educational experience driven by a deep-seated passion for student growth, positive learning environments, and collaborative partnerships. My journey in education began right here at McDowell in 1998 under the foundational tutelage of Dr. Jodi Easterling-Hood. My tenure has been defined by a versatile teaching portfolio spanning Kindergarten through Fourth grade. Beyond the classroom, I’ve expanded my impact by serving as a Teacher Leader, a member of the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), and a representative on the Local School Council. I was preparing to transition to fifth grade when I was promoted to the network level as an Instructional Support Leader. In that role, I collaborated with some of CPS’s most dedicated principals and teachers to ensure our students were afforded every opportunity to soar, both academically and socially.
At McDowell School, we don’t just teach; we inspire. By fostering a community where every student is valued and heard, we create a foundation of kindness and collaboration. We move forward with a singular focus: preparing our students for a brilliant future where Excellence Is Expected!!
On a personal note, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends, and I am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I look forward to our continued work together to champion the success of every student.
