My name is Tim McEachran and I will be the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Instructor this school year. This is my seventh year as a teacher and I am returning back to McDowell after being gone for two years. I taught 5th Grade for four years at McDowell and was an SEL support teacher at a CPS high school for the last two years.

I am originally from North Carolina and moved to Chicago directly after college. I attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels!) for my bachelors degree and Dominican University for my Masters in Teaching. My favorite part of teaching is finding ways for students to engage in content that helps them relate their own identity and growth to the world around them. During SEL Class this year, students will be building community with one another, focusing on their identity and values, and connecting to their community.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and getting a chance to visit with my nieces and nephews in North Carolina. I love UNC Tarheel college basketball, Bears football, and playing tennis with friends.
